Genomic Characterization and Phylogenetic Analysis of SARS-CoV-2 in Libya

چکیده
The COVID-19 epidemic started in Libya March 2020 and rapidly spread. To shed some light on the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) strains circulating Libya, viruses isolated from 10 patients this country were sequenced, characterized at genomic level, compared to genomes other parts of world. As nine out belonged SS1 cluster one SS4, three datasets built. One included only African two contained internationally representative SS4 genomes. Genomic analysis showed that Libyan have peculiar features addition those reported world regions. Considering countries which are genetically more similar strains, SARS-CoV-2 could entered a North (possibly Egypt), sub-Saharan Africa (e.g., Ghana, Mali, Nigeria), Middle East Saudi Arabia), or Asia (India, Bangladesh).

Analysis of Sars-CoV-2 RBD Mutations in Khuzestan Province, Iran—A Retrospective Study, 2021
Background and Objective: One of the main reasons for the ongoing pandemic is the substitutions in the Receptor binding domain(RBD), which is involved in binding to the ACE2 receptor. Methods: Oro-nasopharyngeal swabs were collected from 41 confirmed patients between September 2020 and May 2021 to analyze the mutations of SARS-CoV-2 RBD in Khuzestan Province. Bi-Directional sequencing was use...

متن کاملSerology Testing for SARS-CoV-2: Benefits and Challenges
As COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March 2020, it is an emerging need to discuss different aspects of this pandemic. In any pandemic, valid and rapid laboratory diagnostic tests are critically important for early diagnosis, which will increase the rate of successful treatment and more importantly prevent the spread of the disease.
متن کاملStability of SARS-CoV-2 in Different Environments and the Effect of Disinfectants on its Survival
In December 2019, the prevalence of a pneumonia with unknown cause was reported in China which was later named Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by a virus called SARS-CoV-2. One of the most important ways of COVID-19 transmission is contaminated surfaces. In this review study, we investigated the stability of SARS-CoV-2 in air and on surfaces and the methods of preventing its spread R...
